So far, predictive modelling has largely neglected the social and cultural dimensions of past landscapes. To maintain its value for archaeological research, therefore, it needs new methodologies, concepts and theories. Hong Kong, one of the world’s major international airports, has responded to the challenge of congestion of an airport too small for a growing air traffic by building a new efficient airport, thus opening the way for a reconversion of the old airport site. This has allowed Hong Kong to strengthen its position as a global hub for air freight and international passengers, while being a core element of the ongoing spatial restructuration of the Pearl River delta, including a new town next to the airport and an intermodal center at the end of the HKMZ bridge-tunnel from Macau.

This paper documents the accuracy of a post-correction method applied to precipitation regionalized by the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Regional Climate Model (RCM) for improving simulated rainfall and feeding impact studies. The WRF simulation covers Burgundy (northeastern France) at a 8-km resolution and over a 20-year long period (1989–2008). Previous results show a strong deficiency of the WRF model for simulating precipitation, especially when convective processes are involved.
